About the Greenroom website

The Greenroom is a community site for teachers using the Greenfoot software. Its purpose is to share experiences and material, and to offer a platform for discussion and support. The goal is to help all of us to find inspiration, help each other, find interesting material, and ultimately to improve our teaching.

The name

A "green room" is a room where performers prepare before their performance. From the Merriam-Webster dictionary:

green·room
Pronunciation: \'gre̅n-rüm, -rùm\
Function: noun
Date: 1701
: a room (as in a theater or studio) where performers can relax before or after appearances

Thus the Greenroom is a place for teachers to meet before and after their "performance", discuss how to teach with Greenfoot, and to share their material for doing so.
